I still remember the day this sweet, gorgeous girl was born. Like it was a couple of weeks ago. She is only about 2 months older than my Bells. Absolutely ridiculous how fast these girls are growing up. She just celebrated her 4th birthday a few weeks ago. Ridiculous.

Josh and I have known these two for quite a while. They are both pretty awesome. And I'm sooo glad to see them both so very happy! :)

And just in case I forgot to mention, this is one of my new all time favorite pictures--If I remember correctly 10 seconds before this shot Anna said "Ok, look at me....and don't. laugh. Ok?" ::

Yep, this one. Oh my! It's hilarious. Absolutely hilarious. When I came across this one, I actually laughed out loud...sitting here, all by myself, sounding like a crazy person while my children nap. Fabulous.

A House Divided---Carolina Gamecocks & Clemson Tigers!

If you live in or even visited Upstate, SC, there's no doubt in my mind you've heard the question----Clemson or Carolina? The most awesomest of us always answer:: CAROLINA! :)
Here we have a house/family divided. Yep, Clemson and Carolina fans living under the same roof. I bet that can get pretty interesting, especially during football season! Clemson/Carolina Day---oh, I don't even want to imagine what these girls have to put up with from the guys when Clemson lo---uh, nevermind......j/k. Anyway, guess we'll just have to wait and see! :)

Ok, so you know when you trip and fall or something totally clumsy like that.....and you immediately jump up, pretending nothing happened and look around to see who--if anyone--saw?! Think about it. Totally a normal reaction, right? Well, I feel like that's kind of what I did with my blog. Abandoned the poor thing, left it to fend for itself, and then just hopped back into it the other day [with this post...which you definitely need to check out and let the referring begin!!!!]...acting like nothing had ever happened. Like it hadn't been--what 6 months since my last post!?!?! Come on, really now Noel?! I am still working on the whole 're-doing' of the blog. It can be quite confusing, and I can get really frustrated with confusing-ness.
So, here's my weekend update with Seth Meyers---ok, not really Seth Meyers. Kind of got caught up in SNL for a brief moment. If you're not interest in the weekend update, then read it anyway or ~~skip on down to the end of the post for a quick version of sneak peeks~~ [[Scratch that! I'll just have to do individual catch up posts....it's the only way to keep things organized!]] since the author of the blog has been MIA!
Sooooo anyway, it's a quiet Sunday night. The kids are in bed. It's been an awesome----absolutely a.w.e.s.o.m.e!!!---weekend! Josh left Thursday evening, headed out for the entire weekend, for a hunting trip. Much to my surprise, they came rolling back in Saturday afternoon. Yay! I will admit I do miss the guy when he's gone. Saturday afternoon was also one of the biggest games of the USC games of the season. That's right---GAMECOCKS vs. Bama. I saw looooaaaads of smack talk from some Clems......oh, I mean ""Alabama"" fans. HA! In the end, Carolina showed everyone that to BE the B-E-S-T, you must BEAT the best!!! Final Score---Carolina:: 35; Alabama:: 21. **Ahhh-mazing game! So, like I said--Fabulous. Saturday. Today was pretty relaxing, which is always a nice thing. Josh killed a 'buck-it' [in the vocabulary of Jake this is referring to a buck] this morning. So we participated in the 'afterwards festivities' of that. OH!! And the 10.10.10 thing had me pretty excited too. Yes, I'm a total number dork. And thought it was cool, ok!? Tomorrow is a pretty big day for Bella and Jake---their very first hunt! They are pretty stinkin' stoked....and I won't deny it---I am too! Hopefully I'll have a different type of photo to show tomorrow! :)

Birth Photography. It's something I've been putting some major thought into lately, and I've decided I definitely want to give it a try. There are very few events in life as special as the birth of a new baby. As a mother of 2 [pretty sweet] little stinkers, I know how intense, busy, and emotional the birthing process can be. You are so wrapped up in the labor and emotions, there are so many important and precious memories that can easily be missed or forgotten. The job of your birth photographer is to document the entire birth story---as quietly and unobtrusively as possible. Taking special care to capture the once in a lifetime moments----::The connection between Mommy and Daddy during labor. ::What your baby looked like the second they entered this world. ::What was your reaction? ::Daddy's? ::What was going on in the room? ::Who was there to welcome your baby? All of these things can get lost in the fog of labor. The memories from that day will be some of the most precious you'll ever have.
I would be honored to create a photo documentary of the birth of your child. Capturing each and every moment, every detail you want to remember forever.

Now, it's not really a secret that newborn sessions are one of my absolute favorite kinds of sessions. I won't even attempt to deny it :). Especially those super new babes--still soooo pink and squishy. They still have those precious wrinkles and fuzzy hair, that they so quickly grow out of. Man, what's not to love?! Shortly after the birthing session, a newborn session should definitely be on the books :). I'll leave y'all with one of my latest favorite newborn shots---Isn't she absolutely gorgeous?! :)

Baby Colton has been my very youngest model...so far! And how adorable is he?! I could just eat him right up! :) At 3 weeks old, he wasn't too keen on napping while I was in his face snapping away. But he did close those little peepers *very briefly* so I could get some of those precious sleeping shots!

This was another Christmas gift session! Actually, I don't think they even told their parents they were having the portraits done! Total surprise! How awesome are they!? We had a great time that morning....even if it was 12 stinkin' degrees outside and we were by the lake..basically freezing to death! lol! Renee and Carly--y'all are so very beautiful! Jut and Jeff..well, I guess y'all can't be beautiful..but y'all are pretty handsome and very cooperative {much more than I expected from guys freezing and having a camera in his face for an hour!}

Slacker Alert!

So yes, I've been a total slacker!! I know that some of you have seen these on Facebook, I just haven't taken the time to 'blog' them. So, I'll be right here for the next hour or so updating with all the latest sessions. Some of these sessions were Christmas gifts, and we had to keep them on the secretive side :)....But there's no reason not to share with y'all now..and believe me, the blogger upload is soooo much better than Facebook upload!

Here is a quick...and I do mean quick session I did with Griffin and Gracyn. It was freezing!...and no, I'm not exaggerating..lol! I can not believe how much these 2 have grown, in what seems like no time at all. Griffin had just turned 3 and Gracyn was a 6 month old little chunk, when Josh and I started dating. Ok, so this chick here is **absolutely awesome!** She was sooo much fun! We also did several Mommy/Daughter shots, with the girls in their matching outfits--I loved it! Reghan had been to see Hannah Montana the night before--so maybe she was still in rock star mode. I don't know, but she was all about posing and being such a little model! Although her mommy and daddy say she's always striking a pose somewhere...either way, it was so much fun! I mean, check out this chick--totally rockin' that hat!! :)

The Sorrow/Hatchell/Brown Crew!

Sunday afternoon was my session with the Sorrow/Hatchell/Brown families. We had planned this session for the weekend before {Halloween weekend}, but with the weather so nasty we decided to move it to this past weekend {make sense?..ok!} Anyway I'm so glad we did...because I don't think we could have asked for a more beautiful day! It was the perfect day for family portraits, running around and playing, and of course losing cell phones! Now the ones participating in the family portraits were:: Suzanne, Hank, Elayna, Craig, Fran, Addison, Sydney and Slade {for the most part}, KayKay and Benji....The ones participating in the running around/playing were:: Benjamin! And the losing of the cell phone would have been...umm..ME! So, it was a very interesting afternoon to say the least! But I had a lot of fun and spent time with a very beautiful family!

So, I had my very first couple session today with Chris and Misty. They've been married for 6 years now and haven't had any portraits done since they got married. You know everyone has the engagements portraits, then the wedding portraits, and on to maternity...who says you can't have 'Just for Fun' portraits?! And that is exactly what this session was...FUN! They brought their 'adopted' daughter, Whitney along for a few shots too {lol!} We had a very....well, interesting session! *Little Miss Emily:: This is one precious little girl! She so sweetly volunteered {with the help of her mommy} to model a tutu for me. She was very laid back for our entire session..very unusual for a 2 year old! Couldn't have asked for anything more from her... :)

So as you all know, Opening Day of Bow Hunting Season is tomorrow...oh, you didn't know that?! I'm sorry. It might as well be a National Holiday in the Martin House. I've spent the day washing camo and inhaling the sweet smell of DIRT! This is a day my husband has been preparing for since mid-July {well, January 1st but...} As bow season starts I realize how close to fall we are. Weather gets cooler (yes!), leaves start changing, pumpkins, and before we know it we're getting all dressed up for Halloween, over stuffin' our bellies on Thanksgiving..and then, it's my favorite time of the year {besides my birthday :)} Christmas! So with all these events coming up, I've decided to have a little drawing. We all like the chance to win something awesome, right?!...

Maddox--1st Birthday!

I haven't blogged in a while...I know, how slack of me!? First, I'm sorry :(...See, what had happened was--my laptop {practically brand new} decided it didn't need to charge anymore. I had to send this precious, much needed piece of equipment in to be repaired. During this time, my birthday was coming up. And if you know me, I start using my birthday as a reason to get whatever I want from Josh. This usually starts on August 1..my birthday is August 27 :)..So, my totally precious husband decided that we really needed a backup computer anyway, so I got a desktop and a 20 HD monitor! Along with a new lens, $50 gift card to Victoria Secret {plus $25, because I went over a little!}...Yeah, he loves me a little bit!

Well I know this very sweet baby boy that shares this birth month with me {who couldn't hang on 7 more days...7 Maddox! and he would have shared a birthday with me and his grandmother!} ...but he is still the most adorable nephew..EVER! I had the privilege of doing a cake smash session with Mr. Maddox. I think we both had lots of fun with it...Here are a few from that---

So, ya'll have probably been waiting for more details, right!? Well here they are....

*Newborn Sessions*

-Within the first 10-14 days after their arrival. Why? Biggest reason, they sleep....a lot!! They are also still so very new. Still sweet, pink, wrinkly, and have that super smooth skin!

-You can bring any favorite blankets or special gift.

-Baby should wear?...Nothing! My personal favorite newborn shots are totally naked. We can use a diaper cover if you'd prefer. So new outfits aren't a must, unless that's what you want!

*Infants/Toddlers/Children*

-Accessories! I love accessories.

:Hats :Scarves :Tutus :Whatever expresses your child!

-Ok, Dora is precious, Elmo is adorable, and Hannah Montana is totally popular. But these characters are best to be left out of your portraits. When you child has Spongebob Square Pants on his/her shirt that tends to take the focus off of what we're interested in....Your Sweet Baby!

-I also love bright, bold colors. So don't be afraid of that hot pink, aqua, purple or green.

-Comfort...Please make sure your child is comfortable in what they are dressed in. If they aren't comfy, they usually aren't happy. And if they aren't happy it's going to be hard to get them to be themselves!

-Got a favorite bear or baby doll? Bring him/her and we'll get a few shots with them too!

-Let your child have fun! Please don't get upset if they don't sit perfectly still and say 'Cheese'. My job is to capture who they truly are..their precious personality...that's what you want to remember, right?!

*Families/Maternity/Couples*

-Coordination...something I seriously lack!.. You and your family don't have to have identical matching outfits on, just coordinate with each other. Try to stay away from patterns and plaids. Again, these tend to take the focus off of what we're interested in...You and that precious family of yours!!

-Be yourselves! and please, oh please Have Fun!!

*Seniors*

-What to bring?...Whatever you want!

But you're welcome to leave a voice message or send a text..I just can't promise when I'll receive it! {378-9056} As most of you know, my number one job is a Mommy! I'm usually here everyday with my babies. So, if you were to call my home phone, you may possibly speak to one of my children (depends on who get to the phone first!) Also depending on the time of day you call will depend on the amount of attention I'll be able to fully devote to you (ex. lunch time, cranky time, or nap time.) So, email will be the quickest and most peaceful way to contact me.

-What days are you available?

:As of right now, I'm available everyday! The best times for outdoor portraits are early mornings and late afternoons. {7am-10am or 3pm-8pm--depending on the time of year} So all you need to do is shoot me an email with the best time for you and we'll set up an appointment!

-How long should my session take?

:I don't like to put a time limit on sessions. Mostly because I (and many others) hate feeling rushed! I want you to be as relaxed as possible...not worrying with time limits. But normally you can expect your session to last 1-2 hours.

-When will I be able to view my photos?

:I will post my favorite 5 shots on my blog after your session (provided only if you sign the model release.) You may use these for Facebook, Myspace or emailing to

family! These images aren't to be copied or printed as they are low resolution and watermarked. The imagesaren't to be edited. Period. No cropping, no editing black and white...Nothing! The way I present images to you express my style of

photography. If you were to edit the photos, it's no longer my style. Not only that, but to do any of these things would be a violation of copyright laws! :)

You can expect the rest of your images within 5-10 days.

-Is there a minimum order amount?

:Yes. Sessions will require a minimum order of $75.00.

-Can I (or my children) change clothes?

:Sure! You are more than welcome to a clothing change(s). Just try to keep an eye on the time. Although I don't want you to feel rushed, I also want to keep the

session at a reasonable amount of time. Children especially tend to loose patience quickly, so let's try to keep things moving before they get upset!

So, there ya go..a few details! Now, I'm sure I've left some things out. If you've got more questions or want more info about something...just ask me!

Ok, so I have heard all my life the sayings "Oh, how time flies..." or "they grow up so fast!" Until my babies were born, I didn't fully understand or even believe these expressions. It never fails to amaze me how fast my babies are growing up...and getting bigger..and smarter..oh, and sassier!! I quickly came to realize I wanted everything on film...well digitally, but you get the point..I want to remember everything!! So I begin reading, studying and learning about photography. I have learned so much, but there will always be something new to learn.

So, here I am with my goal to capture every moment, every stage, and every phase of my babies' lives. I absolutely love the feeling I get when I create that perfect moment, the moment that captures their little personalities just the way they are. Well I decided that I want to share this with others. So I've started Noel B. Martin Photography. I love capturing the real moments. I will be working with Maternity Babes, Newborns, Children, Families, Seniors, and Couples/Engagements. I will be doing on-location sessions, this allows you to choose a location that means something to you. Right now, I'll be doing 'Portfolio Building Sessions.' For you this means a free session, all you pay for is the prints that you want! I'm working on my website now, so it will be up and running soon. So for now, I plan to post my experiences, sessions and photos here!
